This painting was inspired by the flowering Erythrina Flabelliformis that I see when catching my breath after a long run at Santa Barbara's Mesa Park. They only have a handful of them. When you look up is almost as if the flowers were little fingers trying to touch your face. Then you notice what look like white butterflies all around them. I call them Eryth's Fairies for short. It's a joy to see in real life if you get a chance.
